TOUCH GUIDE — After loading, analysis runs automatically (up to 10s). Drag the COMPONENTS slider to choose how many sine waves to use. Tap any equation row to edit that component's frequency, amplitude or phase. Spectrum/stacked panels: drag up/down to adjust amplitude. Zoom then pan to navigate.

Waveform — Synthesis Output
WHAT YOU SEE: The sum of all active sine wave components — exactly what will play. This is the synthesis, not the original recording.
DRAG to sculpt. On release the app re-runs matching pursuit on your drawing and extracts new components.
Zoom in to see individual discrete samples as dots.
ZOOM PAN
drag ↕ to lift/lower a point • ctrl+drag (or touch+drag) to draw • zoom to samples
Spectrum — Original + Active Components
WHAT YOU SEE: Grey = original audio spectrum. Coloured spikes = the active matching-pursuit components.
DRAG A SPIKE up/down to scale that component's amplitude. Drag the grey background up to inject a new frequency.
Spikes are ordered by extraction order — spike #1 captured the most energy from the original signal.
ZOOM PAN
drag spikes ↕ • drag grey to add a new frequency
Stacked Sine Waves — Active Components
WHAT YOU SEE: Each strip is one sine wave, in matching pursuit order (most important at top). Strip height = relative amplitude.
DRAG UP/DOWN within a strip to scale that component's amplitude and immediately hear the difference.
Muting the top strip removes the most dominant frequency. Strips further down are progressively smaller corrections that add realism.
drag ↕ in strip to scale amplitude • zoom shared with waveform
ƒ(t) — Active Sine Wave Components — CLICK ROW TO EDIT
THE EQUATION: f(t) = A₁·sin(2πf₁t+φ₁) + A₂·sin(2πf₂t+φ₂) + …
Components are in matching pursuit order — #1 was the single best-fit sine wave for the entire recording. #2 was the best fit for what was left after removing #1, and so on. Each one adds another layer of fidelity.
CLICK A ROW to edit amplitude (loudness), frequency (pitch), or phase. Click APPLY to commit. Use the COMPONENTS slider above to quickly compare fewer vs more components.
